There are three basic items to check before you call for heating service:
Make sure power is on to the furnace. There is normally a switch on the side or top of the furnace, so consider shutting off the electricity for a minute before turning it back on. Even furnaces have computers for reasons such as power fluctuations or improper ground connections that need to be reset.I strongly suggest you to visit Furnace Repair Service to learn more about this.
Test the thermostat is adjusted properly. Try turning the heat / off / cool switch off and then back on when the thermostat is in heat position and set above room temperature.
Check the gas valve manually. The manual gas valve is on the gas pipe which enters the furnace. Verify that the valve handle is parallel to the gas pipe.
However, if we don’t overlook another basic maintenance item on the furnace checklist, make sure you check the filter for a moment to check these items. Sometimes, furnace companies will view a dirty filter as grounds for charging a customer even more. Although this behavior is not very nice, or perhaps ethical, a dirty filter will be considered by some technicians as the homeowners lack interest in saving money. “Hey, if they don’t have the time to change a filter then surely they won’t mind making it worth my time.”
On the other hand, if you adopt these measures you could also query the heating and cooling provider for the opposite answer. Just tell them that you tried these basic steps but found that the problem was something more complicated than the checklist given to you. If a client has expressed great enthusiasm in addressing the issue of their furnace repair I still seek to place myself in their shoes. If they have taken the time to follow these steps chances are they are likely to be concerned about a costly bill for repair. Believe it or not, the way the customers still earn points with me.
